Harvey L. Benenson
Harvey L. Benenson is a Managing Director and the Chief Executive Officer of LB&Co. Prior to co-founding LB&Co., Harvey was a Director of Ayers, Whitmore & Company Inc. for five years and a Principal of Cresap, McCormick and Paget Inc. for nine years. Throughout his thirty-plus year consulting career he has focused on the management disciplines central to LB&Co.’s practice – executive compensation, board of directors’ compensation, corporate governance, human resources management, and organization planning. Harvey also has extensive experience advising creditors and companies at various stages of bankruptcy.
Harvey has been the leader of a wide range of compensation and human resources work for many clients across such industries as agricultural products, automotive, financial services, food and beverage, gaming, healthcare, homebuilding, insurance, manufacturing, media and entertainment, medical supplies and devices, oil and gas exploration and production, oil field services, paper and printing, publishing retail, specialty chemicals, technology and digital, telecommunications, and transportation and shipping, among others.
Harvey has also served several non-profit organizations on matters related to executive compensation, management succession planning and general human resources management.
Prior to becoming a management consultant, Harvey held executive positions in the finance group of Macy’s, Inc. Harvey holds an A.B. degree from the University of Illinois, an M.P.A. degree from New York University, an M.B.A. degree from Cornell University and a Master’s degree from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law. Harvey was a member of the University of Illinois Foundation for 18 years and has served on the Cornell University Council for 8 years. Harvey is past Chairman of the Board of Directors of University Settlement Society of New York and a former Trustee of Muhlenberg College.
